Intestinal bypass has provided an opportunity to study many of the factors that modify food
intake in human beings. Although a number of investigators have contributed to the study of
this area(1-8), most of the following comments will focus on data obtained from our studies
with overweight individuals who have undergone intestinal bypass surgery(1-4, 9-24).
