Descriptions of a limited number of instances of congenital defect of the skin of the new-born
are to be found in the literature. Most of these have appeared in publications devoted to
pediatrics. It is of interest to note a case first recognized when the patient was in his thirty-
eighth year. Congenital defect of the skin of the new-born is an extraordinary condition,
